Anytime you bring a ball or something that resembles a ball – small or large – in his presence, Rufus goes nuts. He barks and whines until you break down and play tug-a-war with him. He is relentless and it’s almost impossible to win unless you wait until your arms feel like they’re going to disconnect from their proper sockets.
On Sunday night he was bothering us during the Super Bowl and my brother Matt, being the kind soul that he is, took him up on his playful demands. He pulled the toy between his knees and Rufus wouldn’t back down; I don’t think he was even able to see at this point; he was barely hanging on by the smoosh!
