I’m going to Washington, D.C., Friends! This Wednesday night I’ll be (attempting) to sleep on the red-eye out to Dulles. The last time I took a red-eye it was the best flight I had ever been on. I had a drink, got on the plane (may or may not have taken a Xanax), fell asleep and when I woke up we were landing…best flight ever.
This is a really exciting trip for me. For my first three days I’ll actually be in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, attending the Blog Paws blogger’s conference! I’m nervous because this is the first time I’ve been to an event like this. I don’t know what to expect and I won’t know anyone. Rumor has it, though, that I’m going to learn a lot AND walk away with a ton of swag, so much swag, in fact, that they suggest you bring another suitcase for it!
After my time at BlogPaws I’m heading into Washington, D.C. for a little sight seeing. I’m staying in the Dupont Circle at The Topaz, which I’ve heard wonderful things about. I haven’t been to Washington, D.C. since I was a teenager so it’ll be a whole new experience for me. I think I’m going to avoid a lot of the touristy stuff. I want to experience the neighborhoods, eat and drink at local restaurants and bars, shop, and experience the city outside of what it’s known for. To get in the spirit, I gathered up a little Washington, D.C., Etsy inspiration:
Wouldn’t it be cool if I got to meet our First Dog, Bo?!
Have you been to Washington, D.C.? I’m looking for recommendations on restaurants, bars, shopping, and sight seeing!
