Canines & Couture’s Closet (the purse edition!)

I’m on a mission to get my brain and life organized. I saw this blog about organization and realized I needed to get my ass in gear. One of the steps I’m currently working on is taking inventory of my closet, going through every single item and asking myself whether I really need/wear it. The hopeful end result would be a closet full of things I’m stoked about and love wearing.

I started last night with my purse collection. This was a tough one because I tend to be a pack rat with my purses. I have a lot that I never wear anymore but continue to leave space in my closet for “just in case” I decide they might be worth wearing again someday. I was brutal with my cut but I eventually narrowed it down to the final 10 (above). These 10 purses are the ones that I consistently use day-in and day-out and that are the most versatile.

I make one really nice purse purchase every year. Last year it was my YSL Muse, the year before that was my Amrita Singh, and the year before that was my vintage Dior. Purse pickin’ time usually occurs around my birthday (March) as a little gift to myself.

I’m noticing I need a little more color in my collection. What would you all suggest for my purchase this year? sig

  4. Hi Julia – The Amrita Singh bag is adorable. I’m one of those odd females who doesn’t collect handbags or shoes although my wardrobes happen to be full of them somehow… hmmm…. how??

    Thinking I need a clear out too…

I can relate. Somehow over the years I’ve added one too many bags to the collection when I really didn’t need to…and somehow I’m still “in the market” for one this year. ;)
